One step forward, two steps back…

En sang om det at føle at man står stille i sit liv, og man går et skridt frem og to tilbage. Nummeret er laver i rigtig 90ér style (EuroStyle)

Tekst:

One step forward, two steps back…
One step forward, two steps back…

(Verse 1)
Walking in circles on a moving floor
Try to push open an endless door
Moving my feet but I’m staying still
Fighting the slope of a phantom hill

Seconds stretch into hours now
Looking for a way, but I don’t know how
Frozen in place while the world moves fast
Trapped in a loop that was built to last

(Chorus)
One step forward, two steps back
Lost in the rhythm, lost on the track
Time stands still while the night turns black
One step forward, two steps back
One step forward, two steps back
No destination, no way back

(Drop / Build-up)
(Repetitiv, hypnotisk stemme – stigende tempo)
Forward… back…
Forward… back…
Time stands still…
One step forward, two steps back!

(Verse 2)
Tick, tock, but the clock won’t turn
Watching the same old bridges burn
Running on empty, trapped in space
Every new start is the exact same place

Gaining ground just to lose it all
Build up the wall, then I watch it fall
Static energy, frozen mind
Leaving the future far behind

(Chorus)
One step forward, two steps back
Lost in the rhythm, lost on the track
Time stands still while the night turns black
One step forward, two steps back
One step forward, two steps back
No destination, no way back

(Outro – Fading out over a minimalist beat)
Time stands still…
One step forward, two steps back…
One step forward, two steps back…
(Fades out)
